Cantor George has composed musical settings for various liturgical texts. He feels that music is a necessary element of our connections with the Eternal, with our community, and with each other. To Cantor George, the music carries our thoughts, our fears, our hopes, and our love---music with words, music without words. Congregational singing is a uniquely spiritual experience.
Cantor George is also a skilled calligrapher, specializing in certificates for baby namings and B’nei Mitzvah. He also writes an occasional blog for Kol HaLev, and teaches classes on various aspects of Jewish music.
In his spare time, Cantor George is a dedicated hockey fan, as well as a skilled cruciverbalist (crossword puzzle aficionado) who has finished as high as second in the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament.
