Inspired by Martin Buber's writing while procrastinating from piano practice at High School Jazz camp, Brian Yosef Schachter-Brooks began a quest for finding the inner truths of Judaism, beyond dogma and tradition. Finding that Truth ironically led him back to tradition. Brian Yosef currently serves as Interim Spiritual Director and Music Director at Chochmat HaLev in Berkeley, teaching and leading musical prayer services. His teaching, "Torah of Awakening", http://www.torahofawakening.com teaches Judaism as a path of awareness and inner liberation. His band, Captain Zohar, http://www.captainzohar.com  plays original Jewish devotional and concert music. He holds a Bachelor in Musical Composition from the Eastman School of Music.

He received smikha (ordination) as Minister of Sacred Music from Reb Zalman Schachter-Shalomi, z”l. He lives in Oakland with wife Lisa and two children, to whom he owes constant gratitude for keeping him far from cheap substitutes for G-d. http://www.captainzohar.com

Austin’s “Rockin” Rabbi-Cantor Robbi Sherwin travels the world as a Rabbi/Cantor and Artist-in-Residence specializing in Jewish retreats and congregational songwriting. Raised as an Air Force ‘brat’ in small towns all over the U.S., she brings an infectious love of Judaism to all who encounter her – babies to Bubbies!  An award-winning, multi-published composer of 100 Jewish songs, Robbi tours extensively with her popular folk-rock band, Sababa! with Steve Brodsky and Scott Leader, and has recorded 5 CDs of original Jewish folk/rock music. A multi-instrumentalist and exceptional harmony singer, her “spirited Jewish songcrafting” has been published, sung, recorded and performed from Tulsa to Tel Aviv. Robbi’s music can be found in Voices for Israel II; Shalshelet: The Foundation for New Jewish Music; Transcontinental Music’s Ruach series, Tot Shabbat Curriculum and Shabbat Anthology; Women of Reform Judaism's 100th Anniversary CD; and many others. Robbi is also a Storahtelling Maven, Vice-President of the Women Cantors’ Network and one of the few female artists featured on Jewish Rock Radio. As the spiritual leader of Congregation B'nai in Crested Butte, Colorado, she enjoys the Rocky Mountain “chai” of a shul at 9,000+ feet, with Ski Shabbats, Alpine hikes and an attitude of high-altitude gratitude.
